What are Benefits of Dry Fruits?

Dry Fruits 








1. Almonds(Badam)






  • It contains calcium,iron,zinc,potassium,phosphorus,vitamin-B1,B2,B3,B5,B6,B9,C,E and a high content of dietary fibre,protein,antioxidants and unsaturated fats.
  • The almond is often eaten in raw or toasted form. For maximum benefits,these should be soaked in water for a night or 06-08 hours and then should be eaten after peeling its skin.
  • They contain the right kind of fats-monounsaturated and some polyunsaturated, so they help lower low-density lipoprotein (LDL) i.e. the bad cholesterol, while not touching the high-density lipoprotein(HDL) or good cholesterol levels.
  • If you’re eating roasted almonds to reduce cholesterol , well, it just isn’t going to happen.Just take only raw and unsalted almonds and you’ll be fine.


2. Raisins(Kishmish)




  • It contains iron,large content of vitamin-B complex and protein etc.
  • Due to high content of Iron,it is most suitable for anemic patients.
  • It also removes physical debility.
  • Jaundice patients are benefited promptly.
  • Its regular use cures constipation.

Precaution : 
            Diabetic patients are not recommended its use due to its high content of carbohydrate.

3. Prunes(Munakka)




  • Its daily use in winters is very beneficial.
  • Wash them with hotwater and then soak in water for overnight,drink its water in the morning and eat it also. By regularly eating it, it increases vitality and blood.
  • It cures physical debility.
  • It provides strength to lungs.
  • For constipation - Boil 10 munakkas in milk and eat it and take milk.
  • For Blood purification - Soak 20 munakkas in water for overnight. Grind these and mix in one cup of water and take it daily.
  • For cough and cold - Take 5 almonds after peeling its skin+10 munakkas+10 black pepper,grind these and mix it in 25 g of butter.Then eat it in the night at bed time.
  • It increases blood and semen.


4. Figs(Anjeer)




  • Figs can be used for the treatment of sexual weakness, chronic constipation, indigestion, obesity. piles, diabetes, cough, bronchitis, asthma,anemia,heart disease,hypertension,age related vision loss. It also helps in gaining weight after illness. It is a great sexual tonic for men.
  • Figs are a rich source of essential minerals, vitamins and a great source of dietary fibre. These contain nutrients and essential minerals that help balance the woman’s body and mind. Figs are also excellent for female health.
  • Figs are rich in antioxidants which prevent the damage caused by free radicals. Therefore, regular consumption of figs will help you in keeping yourself younger for much longer.
  • Figs are rich in calcium, which strengthens the bones. The persons having allergy to milk and other dairy products must consume figs to fulfill the calcium requirements of the body.
  • Figs are rich in potassium which helps to control blood sugar.
  •  The high content of fibre in figs -
  1. prevents constipation
  2. prevents colon cancer
  3. prevents breast cancer
  4. helps to reduce weight in obese persons(for both men & women).
  • Note – Consumption of figs with milk increases weight.
  • Figs contain a water soluble fibre called Pectin which is a powerful detoxifier  and   lowers cholesterol.
  • Dried figs contain Omega-3 and Omega-6 essential fatty acids(essential for optimum health)which  reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.
  • Figs have an excellent aphrodisiac properties. It is a powerful sexual tonic for men. For increasing sexual power, soak 2 figs in the milk for 08-10 hours and then eat these. Eating the figs in this way also increase weight.
  • Figs are excellent for liver.

5. Walnut(Akhrot)

Therefore, regular consumption of figs will help you in keeping yourself younger for much longer.

6. Pine nuts(Chilgoza)




  • It is very extremely powerful tonic for men. Eat 15 pine nuts daily for it.
  • The nuts are especially rich in “heart friendly”mono-unsaturated fatty acids like oleic acid  that helps to lower LDL(low-density lipoprotein cholesterol) or "bad cholesterol" and increase HDL(high-density lipoprotein cholesterol )or "good cholesterol" in the blood.
  • They are rich in carbohydrates & protein.
  • They are an excellent source of Vitamin-A, Vitamin-B complex,healthy amounts of  essential minerals like phosphorus,manganese, potassium, calcium,copper, iron, magnesium, zinc and selenium.

    1. Yes, but only in summer. Raw walnuts are used in winter.
